Another Edit:
The dog can also be found randomly in those areas as well as being around raider bodies. It usually approaches you when you least expect it. You can take it home (presuming you have not blown up megatron) and tell it to stay and it does not need feeding or anything =P
You can find Dogmeat in the scrapyard in the north west of the map, have a look on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Dogmeat_(Fallout_3) to know exactly where abouts, he should be fighting some raiders when you get there.
To get dog meat on Fallout 3, you have to kill raider dogs, vicious dogs or people that are carrying dog meat. You can sometimes buy dog meat from hunters or traders that randomly cross your path. If you're looking for a companion called "Dogmeat" you go to the scrapyard south of minefield and look for a red shipping container (It's the one near the crashed tower crane) there you will find Dogmeat fighting some raiders, help him out and he will come to you and you can tell him to come with you.
Once your dog (named Dogmeat) is killed, that's it, he's gone. You can always send him to Vault 101 where he will be safe whislt you get on with playing the game, you can use your PipBoy to go and see him, but you need to do this before he gets killed.
You can now get the expansion and then level up to get the perk called puppies and one of dogmeats puppies will be waiting for you when you go to vault 101. last edited by bobbylane and that doesn't answer the question either i am afraid but yes for the time being you couldn't get another dog that's if you cant afford the expansions
he's in the scrapyard in the middle of the map. hes attacking raiders and joins you if you approach him.
wonder around in the scrap-yard and you'll find dogmeat.
dogmeat is found in the scrapyard, north of the minefield, which can be located in one of moiras' quests (moira found in megaton)
At any time in the junkyard theres a dog named dogmeat and you can at ANY time adopt him.
He is outside a shack in Junktown. If you give him some food, he will follow you. He will also follow you if you speak to him while you are wearing the black leather jacket armour.

Fallout 3, Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition, Fallout 3: Broken Steel/Operation Anchorage/Mothership Zeta/The Pit/Point Lookout
I personally recommend Fallout 3 to any other Fallout game. Fallout 3 has a more organized and in my opinion interesting storyline. And you. And you can also keep the game going after you beat the main quest on Fallout 3 if you buy the DLC "Broken Steel."
It is featured in the video game fallout 3 when asking three dog where he came from
The Adytum, part of the Boneyard, is in Fallout 1, not Fallout 3. It is located in what used to be California, while Fallout 3 is based around the remains of Washington D.C.
Fallout 3 because i looked all over the internet and i counted up the votes: Fallout 3 had 1678 Halo 3 had 1443 So the answer is: Fallout 3 is better than Halo 3.
I am pretty sure that your dad ticks the overseer off so he turns him into a dog to keep his mouth shut
