spray it with belt dressing
Replaced alternator now belts are squeeling. How do you stop the squiling are the belts to lose or to tight?
If the squeeling is under the hood it is probably the AC belt. If the defroster is on the AC is on. Just tighten the belt. If the squeeling is under the hood it is probably the AC belt. If the defroster is on the AC is on. Just tighten the belt.
the squeeling noise is from the fan belt either the belt needs renewing, or the a/c compressor clutch is not operating correctly
if the noise is a squeeling sound, check the drive belt, if worn change it @£17 if the noise is a squeeling sound, check the drive belt, if worn change it @£17
a loose belt or a seezed pully could do it or your ac pump could have seezed up that is common with fords and or the belt some belts just start squeeling for no reason
Check your belt. That's most likely where its coming from
rub soap on the belt
Loose or worn fan belt would cause alternator not to spin fast enough to charge battery. Worn bearing in alternator could be causing it to seize and causing belt to slip
Broken fan belt? Seized water pump?
Most of them move some but if your belt is squeeling you probably need to replace the tensioner.
The squeeling is caused by friction between the belt and a pulley because it is not tight enough. In time, it will burn the area that is making contact and create a smooth polished surface so that you will never get enough tension to stop the squeel. Tighten the belt or replace it!
squeeling sound after installing new belt usually means that the belt is not tight enuff. if that is not the cause, a bearing on a pully wheel may be bad
