Only Sonic can use this gear and allows him to transform to Super Sonic as long as Sonic obtains at least one ring. Super Sonic loses rings over time and they drain faster when drifting as well as using tornadoes and boosts. Getting air containers will not fill up your rings however if you run into the max air container your rings will get maxed out. The same goes for the max ring container.

Go to the main menu and scroll down to the Story Mode option and press the "A" button. You will be brought to the Choose Character screen.Play as Storm by selecting her and pressing the "A" button. Complete her story mode by receiving a gold medal. If you don't receive the gold medal the first time, replay story mode. Go back to the main menu and choose Story Mode again.
