How do you mount a horse on Minecraft?

Horses spawn randomly in grasslands, such as plains. You can find a horse there, although, despite its rareness, there is a small chance you could find a herd. In creative, you can go to the miscellaneous tab and get a horse spawn egg and spawn one right in front of you. To tame horses, right click on them to ride them. The horse will throw you off of it a couple times, but eventually it gets used to you. You'll know you have tamed a horse if you've ridden it enough and it is showing hearts. With your tamed horse, you can put a saddle and horse armor on it to make your horse look stylish.

There is no need for a horse mod, because as of 1.6 horses are now in the game. There was once the Mo' Creatures mod that had horses, but they have been removed from that now as they are in vanilla minecraft.

There are no horses in Minecraft.

But you can mount a pig by using a saddle on it. You can control the direction of the pig using a carrot on a fishing rod.
