You can find the power of Mist in the Colosseum. You mainly get to it as a prize after you defeat Richter's henchmen. When you have the Soul of Bat, head to the Castle Keep. If you keep going up just below the platform where you hit the switch, you can find the Form of Mist. This actually allows you to hold the power of Mist much longer than you originally could. It's pretty useful for those nasty sticky situations that you might run into.
You can get the soul of bat in the Long Library. You need the form of Mist in order to get this. You also need at least the Leap Stone. The Leap Stone can be found in the Castle Keep. You can find the form of Mist in the Colosseum. The Colosseum is right next to Olrox's Quarters. After you beat the boss in the Colosseum, keep heading to the right. You will see the form of Mist. Once you get the form of Mist, you should use a Library Card. This takes you outside of the librarian. Go ahead and leave the area. Go up the stairs a bit until you find a platform you can jump on. This is where the Leap Stone comes into place. Simply follow the rest of the Library. After defeating the boss, continue moving forward. Once you find three lanterns, stop here. Go to the third one. Press X twice to double jump and then press pad down plus X. You will perform a stomping attack. Use the the lantern to help give you a bit of a boost. Then, immediately transform into Mist. You should be able to go through the mist spot. Then, you can get the soul of bat.
