You will have to time your jump to catch him as he comes up. Wait for three or four seconds after he goes down, then jump toward the hole. He should come up just as you get there.
Return the stone bowl to the sentry at the Great Wall of China (1593 AD). Climb the tower, go up the rope, then jump left to reach the left side of the Great Wall.
