You don[t say what kind of car you are working on. You may have to pull the radiator to put it back in. Sometimes it is easier to remove the lower hose to drain the radiator.
The Chevrolet Malibu radiator drain plug can be found on the right side of the radiator. The drain plug will be at the bottom of the radiator.

If you are looking at the radiator with the hood opened up, the drain plug is on the bottom right side (the side that your battery is on) on the back side (facing the engine) of the radiator.
