There are different Wilderness Badges to get. To get the "Wilderness Leader" badge, lead an adventure into any wilderness. (Other people don't have to come along for you to get the badge.) To get the "Wilderness Helper" badge, join an expedition into the wilderness.
If you need any more help figuring out how to earn badges, click on your Leaf Journal, click on the Badges page, and click on or scroll over the badge you want to earn. It'll tell you how you earn that badge. Some badges aren't on the list, and that's if they are a holiday badge. Some holiday badges can be earned by simply putting on a piece of clothing, going a certain place, etc. during the event. Other holiday badges can be earned by completing a holiday quest, such as the "Prickly Friendship" quest. (Rosetta's quest; the award is the Friendship Festival 2010 badge.) Remember that holiday badges can only be earned during the event.

To get the badge for being a fairy in Pixie Hollow for one year you have to enter Pixie Hollow on the date (or on a day after) that you created your fairy one year ago.
