How do you get the mech crank on poptropica steamworks island?

The Mech Crank is at the far upper left on the island, and you cannot reach it except by going through the Living Quarters. To get the key, you will have to get the robot crab and Sully's key, and the vine nearby on the roof. Get the beaker from upstairs in the Gear Shop, then solve the Hub to get the bridge key. The Living Quarters key is in a closet behind a carnivorous plant in the Research Center, once you have mixed and used a herbicide in the beaker.

There is no Mech wrench.

You can get the Multi-tool from the Cantina when you arrive on the island.

The Mech Crank is at the far upper left on some vines, and can only be reached through the Living Quarters.

The Mech Motor is on a conveyor belt in the Greenhouse, part of the Production zone (Research Lab) at the far right of the island. Also there is the Living Quarters key that lets you reach the Mech Crank.

The only way to get the Mech Crank (atop some vines at far upper left) is to use the Living Quarters key, which is in the Research Lab at the far right of the island (essentially solving more than two-thirds of the quest).

To get the crank, you have to first get the "Living Quarters" key. This is on the far right of the island in the research lab, which is the Production Zone on the map. The Mech Motor is in the same location. Once you have the key, you can unlock the Living Quarters on the far left of the island (Gear Alley). In the Living Quarters, find the way to Zack's room and solve the steam vent puzzle. Exit at the upper left and cross the vine "tightrope" to reach the crank.

Go back to Sully's Garage and fix the mech machine.

There is a "multi-tool" that you can get from the Cantina when you arrive on the island. To get it, line up the gears in the machine : the big gears go on the mounts at the top and bottom, and the three smaller ones connect the large ones when set in between them. Turn the bottom crank to dispense the tool.
