How do you get three stars on the end of your file for new super Mario bros?

Well it's not that hard because i have 3 stars on my file...... in world 1 there's a blue mushroom that gives you backrounds.........get all the stars from all the worlds and then unlock all of the back rounds and also com-pleat all the worlds then save game turn your ds/dsi/3ds off then turn it back on again and check your file and you'll have 3 stars!
