Michael Acton Smith first created a website called Perplex City. Unfortunately, Perplex City wasn't very successful. The company Michael worked at, Mind Candy, were nearly going out of business, so he needed to think of another idea quickly. He was inspired by pet rocks and monsters to create a virtual game called Moshi Monsters. Now, Moshi Monsters and Mind Candy are huge successes.
