How do you get through to sunnyshore city on Pokemon pearl?

Get a Pokemon that is super effective against electric. Such as: Ghost, Psychic, Grass.

(I know that Ghost and Psychic arent exactly super effective, but they do pretty much enough damage that it is one hit KO.)

well you first have to capture PALKIA or DIALGA. first go to hearthome city,then go to Mt.corent go through the door at the back of the room. now travel through there, soon youll see PALKIA or DIALGA. you can either make it faint, or cature it. Good Luck!

You must beat Cyrus at the Spear Pillar in order to gain access from Pastoria City into Lakefront Verity, which then leads to Sunnyshore City.

NOTE: There will be trainers along the way, and tons of them so be prepared.

Once in Sunnyshore City, walk on the Solar Panels you first encounter. Head to the lighthouse and Volkner will be there. Talk to him so he can battle you. Now, head to the Gym and start your battle against the trainers. After the trainers, you will reach Volkner.

elesa's pokemon are 2 emolga's and 1 zebstrika. It's quite hard to beat them.

You can defeat the emolga's with a pokemon that knows a rock type move (for example rock tomb) or a rock type pokemon, for the zebstrika: teach a pokemon dig.

It's also a good thing to led your pokemon hold an eviolite(=rises defense and sp.defense). You can also defeat them with a palpitoad.
