How do you get to Ho-oh from violet city?

Ho-oh can be found in Ecruteak City. To get there from Violet City, go through Union Cave, Azalea Town, the Ilex Forest, and Goldenrod City. Continue north towards Ecruteak and north still into the Bell Tower.
