You are supposed to have unallocated disk space if you want to create more partitions. So if you want to split one partition in two you have to delete the partition and then using the unallocated space create two new partitions. There are simpler ways to do that, for instance, using special software such as Partition Magic, Acronis disk editor and so on.
Yes, the Partition Magic Software does support the 4K hard drives.
If you mean creating a new partition on your HDD, the same way you do for a PC. (This is for windows 7, I assume it's similar in XP and Vista) Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Create/Format Hard Disk Partitions
you accidentally deleted a partition containing important data, use a partition editor (such as Fdisk, Partition Magic, Super Fdisk and EASEUS Partition Manager). In fact, you can still try data recovery software to recovery your files even the partition is deletedhttp://www.asoftech.com/adr/You can use Wondershare Disk Manager Free(100% Freeware) It can create, delete, resize, copy…and recover partitions
Two of the highest-rated partition software brands currently available are EaseUS Partition Master Free Edition and Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition. Both are available at no charge, although EaseUS has a paid version.
To decrease the size of a partition and create or enlarge another partition, you would need software. In the past, you would have to delete the partition table (and all your data as a part of doing this) and create a new partition table with the desired partition sizes. But for many years now, there has been software available to allow you to modify things on the fly without deleting everything first, though you should always have backups just in case the process goes wrong. Windows XP and higher does have a built-in partition manager. You would have to go to Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Storage, Disk Management. But if that doesn't work or you want to try something else, there is software you can purchase or even get for free. Partition Manager is one that has been around for a long time, but it is commercial and is probably not available by that name anymore. EASEUS Partition Manager is one that is free for noncommercial use and which also has commercial versions you can purchase. On those, you can resize existing partitions, add and delete partitions, copy and move partitions, etc.
A Paragon Partition Manager can be found on the website of the Paragon Software Group. The software partitions a hard drive and the current version of the software in compatible with Windows 8.
If there is an unallocated space on your disk, you can create partition directly with this unallocated space; if there is no unallocated space on your disk, you should first shrink a comparatively larger partition to get an unallocated space, then create partition
