You must separate the transmission from the engine. Then remove the eight bolts that hold it in place. Remove and replace.
You have to pull the stater and grind a space in the adaptor for a socket to clear to the torque convertor bolts.
The flywheel just bolts up, remove the bolt.
remove the transmission and take the bolts out of the flywheel on back of the engine and install the new one and tighten the bolts back up, you will have to find out what the bolts are torqued at as I'm not sure.
On top of the transmission bell housing where it bolts to engine, looking at the flywheel. That depends greatly on the year and engine size, please ask a new, more specific question.

take the tranny out and the flywheel is right on back of the engine, unbolt the flywheel and take it off and install new flywheel with new bolts and torque them down.
Remove the starter and the dust shield. Remove the four bolts (spaced every 90 degrees around the flywheel) and then the torque converter will be loose.
The starter bolts on a 1998 Dodge Dakota require a 5/8 inch socket or wrench.
