It's in the fuel tank.
01 SANTA FE HAS AN INTANK FUEL FILTER THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A LIFETIME FILTER.
The 2003 Hyundai Santa-FE runs on regular unleaded.
From a Hyundai dealer technician- there is no serviceable fuel filter on the 2003 Sonata. The filter is a "lifetime" strainer on the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It would be replaced with the replacement of the fuel pump only. how do you replace fuel pump on the 2003 sonata
In the fuel tank
1. Remove the old one. 2. Install a new one. Viola!
The fuel filter is located in the fuel pump which is in the fuel tank. It is tha same for as the 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe.
Under the rear seats.
On the 2001-2006 Hyundai Santa Fe (4 cyl or V6), the fuel filter is a special "long life" type of filter located in the gas tank. It is better known as a "fuel screen", or "fuel strainer", that surrounds the fuel pump. The filter is generally only replaced if/when you're replacing the fuel pump.
The fuel filter for your Santafe is located in the fuel tank. Hope this answers your question on this subject.
If you follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine you will find the fuel filter unless it is a permanent filter that is located in the fuel tank. I suspect you will find it has a permanent filter.
