Whitby is a very popular tourist destination on the North Yorkshire Coastline. It is accessible via train with the Whitby - Middlesbrough Esk Valley Line. By road via the A171 from either Middlesbrough/Guisborough direction or from the Scarborough direction. Via the A171 from the A169 Pickering Road leading off from the A64. The nearest airport is the Durham Tees Valley but it is also accessible from Newcastle or Leeds/Bradford.
