you get torchick by migrating from ruby, sapphire, or emerld
You can't.
Yes, May does love her Torchic in a friendly way because they have a special bond with one another because Torchic was May's Starter Pokémon and is now a Blaziken.
You have to migrate it from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, or any other Pokemon game that you happen to have a Torchic in. Torchic can't be caught in Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. Sorry. First of all, you don't catch him, you receive him.Once you have all 16 badges, go to the summit of MT.Silver, & beat trainer red, he has Pokemon from level 80 - 88, so bring your strongest Pokemon, once you defeat red, fly to Saffron city, go to the Silph Co. Go to the counter, & you should see steven, (some guy w/ blue-green hair) Make sure you have room in you team for another Pokemon, because he will tell you to pick a shard. If you pick the green shard, then you get treeko, but if u pic the blue shard, then you get mudkip, red shard, tochic.
You must have two tapes of Pokemon gold version, two GBA and a wireless adapter. The you go to a Pokemon center and trade the other starter Pokemon you want with a Pokemon you don't need. Do this steps two times and voila(!)you have all the starter Pokemon!
Torchic has best stats. Treeko has middle stats. Mudkip has worst stats. I took Treeko because it learns a good move fast; razor leaf, at level 29 as a grovyle. But then your rival has tochic which is very good against your treeko, so make sure you train a good water Pokemon too. Torchic doesn't learn a very good move if you evolve it when it first wants to. Mudkip is a very hard starter and I only recommend taking it if you want a challenge.
