Recovering from an eating disorder is not something you can do in a day, it is a long difficult process that needs help from others. The first thing you should do is open up to a loved one whether that is a friend, parent, sibling, etc. Once someone else knows you have a problem you should reach out for help at a clinic or consider inpatient care.

The 1st step in recovery is accepting that you have a problem, and that your relationship with food is not a good one, adn that yoou need to get better and to recover. Entering rehab or a medical facility for eating disorders is the best step. There, you will have professionals to give you help in regaining health, a better relationship with food, and mental therapy sessions. It is important to have the support of friends and family. They can help you through the hard process of recovery, and will be there to help you all the way.

There are many types of treatments that deal with all aspects of an eating disorder and to address all severities. Often it involves therapy (individual, group, online, community, etc.). Sometimes medical intervention is necessary, such as with nutritional supplements, IV drips, feeding tubes, and in- or out-patient hospital visits.

There are many steps involved in healing from eating disorders. From my personal experience I'd say these are the main steps:

1. Admitting you have a problem

2. Assuring yourself you want to get better

3. Therapy

4. Nutritionist

5. Good Support team (Family, friends etc.)

These steps vary depending on the severity of your eating disorder.
