Without knowing the exact scanner model it is impossible to give exact instructions but Epson scanners are generally well supported by Mac OS X and should be recognised when connected. Plug scanner into computer. Turn on scanner. Launch Image Capture (in the Applications folder) and it should find the scanner and offer preview - set up - scan options. In other software, such as Photoshop, the scanner will probably be recognised as a TWAIN device.
