After I thought about it, though, since you are not leaving him, there has to be more to the situation than you just wanting out of the relationship, so it would be hard to suggest anything for you to do.

If he won't leave, it could be anything from him just not wanting the relationship to end to him being abusive toward you. In any case, if he is not going to leave, but you no longer want to be in the relationship, you're most likely going to have to be the one to leave.
