In a nice way to get it's attention, you can buy a new on a stick dangly/sparkly/jingly/sparkly and jingly toy; then pretend not to notice the cat and look away from it playing with the new cat toy. The cat will feel left out and curious then eventually come over to you. Or you could buy something nice that it hasn't tryed before like pillchards or sardines. If you want to get it's attention quicker; then consistantly poke it with a stick (JOKE) Though if you do what the second suggestion says, then get prepared to be eaten by tour cat.
Remember cats are way different than dogs, puppies would follow you around but cats are very independent and do what they want, when they want, where they want. Cats have a mind of their own. They like to be loved but only when they want it. However, most cats like to play and will chase after something you dangle in front of it for instance if you have a piece of rope or similar and walk slowly as you let hope drag on the floor, your cat will come after it and chase you all over the place trying to get it. Cats love to play like that. The more attention you give your cat the more it will give you back.
