The best way to make it up to your girlfriend depends on what you did. If you messed up and were seeing someone behind her back, you should eliminate contact with that person and be willing to sacrifice your privacy until that trust is rebuilt. You need to be willing to talk about it often in order for your partner to feel you really understand what they are feeling. Little things during the day can add to your partner's ease, such as making dinner, cleaning up the house, talking about her day, going for walks, taking her out, reminding her why she fell for you. Lastly, you should be able to make a couple commitments about future behaviour including honesty with yourself and what caused this behaviour. Therapy is a good way to explore personal issues individually and as a couple.

∙ 14y agoYou probably don't, entirely. If you're still together, just be truthful from now on, and don't get upset if she's suspicious. You, after all, gave her the reason. Eventually -- maybe -- you'll earn her respect again.
If you are not together, then she's not your girlfriend any more. Get on with your life. We hope you learned a lesson that you'll never forget.

∙ 13y agoWell normally you kinda have to start by saying sorry....that's the primary thing you can do...even if it doesn't work give it some time...then after someday when she cools down tell her that you lied to her because of a specific reason..and tell her you had no other choice....maybe it'll take some time..but trust me after someday she'll forgive you...
