In general, you get a record expunged in OR by filing a motion with both the court and the prosecutor's office in the county where your arrest took place. Some courts and prosecutor's offices have the forms, others do not. Traffic violations and Class A and B felonies cannot be expunged. If you were not convicted, you have to wait 1 year after your arrest to file. If you were conviced, you have to wait 3 years for some offenses and 10 years for others.

The related link below has links to several sources of information about OR expungements. Just click that link and look for the blue links to "Oregon Expungement Process" and "Oregon Expungement of Juvenile and Criminal Records" in the Statewide category near the top of the page. Since procedures vary from county to county, scroll on down that same page and look for links that mention "expungement" in your county.

If there are no specific instructions for your county or court, contact the clerk of court in your county. Contact information for all OR courts is at the second related link.

Some courts provide expungement forms online; you can find them at the third related source; just scroll down that page and see if your county includes a forms link that includes expungement forms.

Can you work as an anethesioligist with an expunged felony record?

Well, let's clarify what it means to expunge a case: it means to DELETE it COMPLETELY. This means essentially THERE IS NO RECORD!! So to have a record EXPUNGED means to have it DELETED. When you have a felony record expunged it's as if it never occurred. Therefore the public cannot see the record, nor can police. And you then have the legal right to say you don't have a record (at least not that one: if you do not have any other record you have NO record). Therefore to answer your question, YES, you can work as an anesthesiologist with an expunged record.
