In order to get an interview with a modeling agency, the agency has to first take an interest with you. This could happen through receiving your images and information via email or snail mail. Or you may have made a good impression on an agency if you attended one of their open casting calls. Being scouted by a model is also another way to get an interview with an agency. Other than that, you cannot simply call an agency and request an interview.

When you interview with an agency, it is important to dress simply. A solid colored tank top or form fitting t-shirt with form fitting jeans and heels is ideal. Avoid wearing busy patterns, stripes, dots, brand names, logos, or other distracting images. Wear your hair how you normally would, just make sure it is out of your face. Wear little to no makeup.

In the interview the agency will ask a few questions to get to know you better and to get an idea of your personality. Bubbly, outgoing and genuine smiles are a must. Avoid talking too much and provide concise answers. The most common questions they'll ask include:

- Who do you want to be a model?

- What are your strengths/weaknesses?

- How do you handle rejection?

- What are your plans for the future?

- Why do you think you would be a good fit for our agency?

If you are interested in being a runway model they will ask you to do a runway walk. It doesn't have to be perfect--they just want to see how your body moves naturally. The agency will usually take some quick Polaroids of you and have you fill out all your statistics and measurements and then that will be it. If they are interested, they will contact you with a few days to a week (this can vary).
