How do you have your parents stop judging you and your friends?

• All teens go through a phase where they think their parents judge them too harshly as well as their friends, but, the parents love their children and know the dangers out in society and are much wiser than the teen who has not experienced as much life as their parents have. Parents have the difficult job of molding their children into becoming moral; loyal; honest and hard working individuals so they will do well in life when they leave home and when you think your parents are judging you they are simply teaching you what are good decisions you must make to become wise and independent throughout your adult life. Teens should try to look at their parents as people that were once the age of themselves and that they went through similar feelings just like you are going through. Communication is a wonderful tool and one is never too young to learn. Sit down with your parents and ask them to tell you stories of when they were younger. Start learning about your parents before they married and had children. You will be surprised at what you find out. If your parents judge some of your friends then sit down with them and ask them why and perhaps you can come to some agreement and ask one or two of your friends over for dinner and let your parents know you want them to give your friends a chance to prove they are good people. However, perhaps your parents see that some of the friends you have chosen really are bad news and you may not see them in that light. Start talking with your parents in a calm way (do not be cheeky) learn about them and do not be afraid to ask them questions as to why you cannot do something or why they do not like one or more of your friends.
