You need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and treatment of a strep throat.;

Well, i don't know how to completely heal a sore throat, but this will help:

Sweet tea, or unsweetened (your choice, both work well) it can be cold or warm.

Add A little bit of fresh squeesed lemon juice, leave the lemon in if you prefer, if you swallow any part of the lemon it could irritate your throat, though this is unlikely.

Vics Vapor rub will help break up chest congestion. ibeprophen will help sooth the pain, follow dosing instructions.

Stay away from salty foods. Ice cream helps and its tasty

gargarl salt water :)

First you need to find out why it's sore, otherwise any treatment of the symptoms won't do any good. You need to eliminate the cause, usually a throat or sinus infection.

If it's an infection, only antibiotics will get rid of it completely. However, to ease the pain and get the throat back to normal faster, a warm saltwater gargle solution helps a lot. Use about 2 tablespoons per cup of warm water - gargle then rinse. Make sure you brush and keep your mouth as clean as possible too. Mouths are very dirty as lots of bacteria is left over after we eat stuff, and that won't help any.

You can use stuff like Listerine, but it's pretty harsh on the throat, especially if it's sore and raw. Salt might not seem much better, but when diluted properly it's a lot easier than Listerine or something similar.

Vick's Vaporub will work if the sore throat is caused by coughing which can be caused by liquids and mucus in the air passages. Simply rub a layer of Vick's Vaporub (only a little bit alot won't work) on the chest area near the collarbone (you would probably would prefer using a shirt) then inhale deeply every once in a while with your nose to the Vick's Vaporub layer soon you will be clearing your air passages of mucus and liquids and eventually your throat will feel better.

Most people like warm liquids, like a mild salt-water gargle. It is the best way to treat a sore throat. Sipping warm (but not hot) liquids can also offer relief. Tea or tea and honey are often used, or warm lemon water. Some add alcohol for a cough if that is also one of their symptoms, then it would be a "Hot Toddy".

Other people like cold liquids. If there is a lot of swelling of the throat or tonsils, this can help shrink the swelling. The main thing to avoid is anything with milk or milk products which can increase the phlegm and make the throat worse.

There are also some very effective over-the-counter cold medicines that have a numbing effect on sore throats, usually in the form of lozenges or throat sprays. If a few days of gargling several times a day with warm salt water doesn't help, try the numbing throat medicines.

Rest. Fruit juices that contain citrus are also good. Honey can soothe the soreness as well.

Honey and lemon remedies might sooth the throat.
