There is nothing you can do so stop feeling guilty because that is what is pushing you into this corner. You were honest and many of us lose feelings for a person we have dated and had to move on and the best thing you can do for this person is to move on. They will survive, but not if you keep interfering. Break-ups when one is still in love with the other is like a grieving process of someone you love that has died. It will take time to heal, but they will survive.
