red (+) wire to possitive side of coil- Black (-) wire to negative side of coil. thats it.
To hook a factory tachometer to a Pro Comp distributor, you'll typically connect the tach's signal wire to the negative terminal of the distributor's coil. Ensure the ignition is off while making connections to avoid any shorts. If your tachometer requires a power source, connect it to a suitable 12V source. Finally, double-check all connections for security and correct placement before starting the engine.
I just read on another website that the red wire goes to the + terminal of the coil (along with switched 12v power) and the black wire goes to the - coil terminal. I tried to set-up my distributor last night without this information and never hit the right configuration. I don't know if this info is right, but I will tonight. Good luck to both of us.

This is a link to the manufacturer. I have found most manufacturers to be very eager to see that you are satisfied with their product. http://www.procompusa.com/stores/StoreLocator.aspx
