That year I believe the model T was positive ground but better check. See which cable has the biggest hole and that one goes to + side of battery. Hope this helps.

disconnect the 97 Thunderbirds battery cables. Find the battery hold down and remove it. Lift the battery out, then lower the new one in. Install the clamp and hook up the cables.
Yeah, you can hook it to the battery. If you do that be sure to hook it to a switch with a nice bright LED or a line that is only active when the key is turned. I made the mistake of not doing that a few years ago and the fan ran until my battery went dry.

Hook positive up first, negative last.
Hook up a battery charger to it.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and turn the headlight switch on. Then turn it back off. Wait about 30 minutes and re-hook your battery.
Answer Red cable (+) goes to starter solenoid and Positive side of battery Black (-) cable goes to engine ground. When disconnecting a battery always disconnect the ground cable from the battery first. When connecting a battery always connect the ground cable to the battery last.
A 1970 ford has a external regulator It's probably possible to adjust one by ajusting the contact points inside the regulator and I'm assuming it has a older style regulator but I don't think it will do much good. Replace the regulator. Disconnect the battery hook up the regulator hook battery up and boom it's polarized.
