Windows Movie Maker for Vista is version 2.6. To import from a device is slightly different than the way it is done on WMM v2.1.
> Open the program
> Click on File (top menu)
> Choose: Import from Digital Video Camera
Note: If the camera is not a digital video camera, you will need to import the video with Windows Photo Gallery and convert the file to one of the following formats before importing them into Windows Movie Maker:
.asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, .wmv
