Search your area for the dealership that has taken over the Saturn parts inventory.If you are willing to install used parts, some used bushings are still in reasonable condition, but be selective.Another PerspectiveI agree that those bushings are available,but they are exactly like the bushings that failed. The ones I recommended are of a different composition and are guaranteed to not fail for the life of the vehicle. You can't say that about the GM replacement parts.

That section is called the gear shift linkage. Most likely, the clutch cable ends in an "end loop", which is a circle on the end of the clutch cable. There's a metal ball at the bottom of the shift lever (the gear shift, the thing you change gears with) that goes into the end loop. This metal ball going into the end loop is called "Ball Joint Linkage". The little fastener that keeps the ball and the end joint together is called a bushing. Don't let a mechanic replace your clutch cable when all you have is a broken bushing!

Or, you could go to eBay and search for "saturn shifter bushing" and get a replacement bushing for around $20. I found this information at this website: http://www.chaosmagnet.com/blog/archives/000112.html if it is a standard tranny your bushing on the stick shift has gone bye bye go to a junk yard and pop off another one and replace as Saturn does not carry this part you must buy the whole shifter cable for around 150-200 bucks I found a set of nylon wiper linkage bushings at Advance Auto, part #49448, that can be modified to work. Most of the major auto supply stores have the same item in the HELP!section. Cut off the end of the bushing at the first indention to make it short enough to work. File off the ridge nearest to the lip on the back so the bushing will slide through the cable end. Put a little grease inside of the bushing, put it through the cable end and and clip it on to the metal knob on the shifter with channel-lock pliers. It takes a little effort with the pliers to get it on. I have been using this for six weeks with no problems. Since there are several bushings in the package, I have modified another and keep it in the car just in case.

You have three options: 1. Buy a complete shift cable from Saturn for about $250 2. Buy an aftermarket bushing kit here: http://tinyurl.com/rcbmm2 for about $18 plus S/H 3. Drill out the lil knob that fits the current (likely completely fragged by time and wear) bushing, buy a hardened bolt, some delrin/nylon washers and a nut and make a bushing replacement. I did this two years ago, added a "Gorilla tape" wrap and have had no problems, but YMMV. Most folks will be best served by option #2, IMO. I'm just a really cheap tightwad and am satisfied with #3 for my own use. Option #1? For folks with more $$ than sense, IMO. BTW, the guy who developed the shift cable bushing repair kit also sells molded cable end loops for about $30. I'll probably have to buy one of those kits eventually, as the cable end loop seems to be the next thing to go. Oh, and the labor for installing a new shifter cable can run anywhere from $200-$250, making the repair at a mechanic's shop up to $500. ~$50 for both the bushing kit and end loop seem much more reasonable to me.
