If you downloaded it from Origin, simply install Sims 3 via Origin and after that you're ready to play. If, on the other hand, you have a Sims 3 CD, you first have to insert the CD into the CD drive on your computer. Then, run the installer and navigate through the different steps which include entering your Sims 3 serial number which can be found on the instruction booklet that came with the game and choosing the location where you want the game to be installed and after it is done you can start playing.
