remove the dashboard face then you should beable to remove and put in your new stereo u may have to take out the heater cointroll unit to get do that
Well if you have a stock deck the first thing you need to do is make sure you buy a dash install kit with the after market deck you want to install. The stock stereo comes out easily after you remove the two screws on the side of the panels that hold the deck in place. The screws are by the drivers right foot and the other is by the passengers left foot.
I had the same problem. I also have a cassette deck. I stuck my pinky figer in the deck hole and assisted cassette carriage down, then I pressed the "eject". To my surprise, the radio came on. I had been riding in silence for 3 weeks until then. On the other hand, I'm still looking for a new stereo that will fit the same hole. Having difficulty.
well if your talking about a CD deck then yes i still have my stock one but i have a systemhooked up in mine...so yes you can install a new stero
Security is in the deck. You will be replacing it with a new deck so the security features in the old deck will not be a problem.

Found this on another FAQ site: http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Toyota/PDF/869005.pdf complete removal and install of a new deck....
you were no help
If you do not have a wiring harness for your after market deck, then go out and get one. There cheap and will save yourself alot of time cutting and trying to match your speakers to the deck
goto Best Buy and buy a wire harness and an install face plate. Next just match the colors on the wire harness with the new deck, and plug the wire harness into the one the old deck was on. Its too easy.
