If the network card comes with software (a disk) put it into the CD drive. You should be prompted to install the software. Once the software is installed you can insert the network card and start using it. Just make sure that you keep the software in a good place. Don't lose it you might need again. You will definitely need it if you plan on using the network card with another computer.

Turn off your PC, disconnect from electricity. Uncharge your hands by touching metal surface. Open the case. Find appropriate slot (usually it's PCI slot). After that free space if it's sealed. And insert carefully the network card. Fix it with a screw if one is available. Close the case. Connect to electricity, start your PC. When asks for a driver choose location where you saved drivers or cd-rom which was with the card. If you don't have go on official web-site and download the driver which fits your network card. Install it. You might need to reboot your PC after that.

It is not external IE uses a USB port then you can't.

A PC uses "PCI" cards for installing inside your computer. (PCI-X if it's a new G5 MAC)

Laptops use "PCMCIA" which is a different standard and they cannot be interchanged.
