Installation is through Boot Camp. The installer will check how much HD space you have and how much you need. Then click through the various short number of steps to partition your HD for the right amount of room, decide if you want to dual boot the computer Linux/ Mac and enjoy
This is entirely dependent on the year of the MacBook. The new 13" MacBook Pro Retina keyboard is not the same as the regular 13" MacBook Pro. You also wouldn't be able to interchange a keyboard from the older 13" MacBook models (white MacBooks) with a recent 13" model.
Click the link I will post to Crucial. They will scan your MacBook and tell you exactly what ram and how much you can install.
The Pro is about half a pound heavier than the air. 13" air is 2.96 pounds. 13" pro is 3.57 pounds. The Air also does not have a CD/DVD drive.
The current 13" MacBook Pro is:Height:0.95 inch (2.41 cm)Width:12.78 inches (32.5 cm)Depth:8.94 inches (22.7 cm)Weight:4.5 pounds (2.04 kg)
Gigabytes (GB) vary with the model of Macbook Pro you decide on. 13-Inch MacBook Pro has 4GB memory and a 500GB hard drive. 13-Inch MacBook Pro with Retina has 8GB memory and ranges from 128GB flash storage to 512GB flash storage. 15-Inch MacBook Pro with Retina has 16GB memory with either 256GB or 512GB flash storage. This information comes from the Apple Store website.
The $1,199 13" Macbook Pro comes with a 500 GB hard drive. The $1,499 13" Macbook Pro come with a 750 GB hard drive. The 15" models come with the same amount.
The very best Mac laptop is the 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display. However it is very expensive at $2,599. The 13" Macbook Pro with Retina display at $1,799 is just as good only slightly smaller. The negative of all of these is that they use flash storage which is not near as large as the 13" Macbook Pro without Retina display that has a price of $1,199 and a 500GB hard drive. They also do not have a DVD/CD drive like the base model 13". For this reason IMO the base model 13" Macbook Pro without Retina display is the best Macbook Pro and is also the cheapest. If you are a student, teacher, or government worker you can buy the base model 13" Macbook Pro for $999.
While it has been discussed, there is no MacBook NetBook series. The only option is to get a 13 inch MacBook or MacBook Pro like the one i am using
Personally, I would get a macbook pro. I have one (the 13 inch one) and it is really good. I really didn't like the macbook white being - white and I didn't like the shape either. I know that macbook pro's are more expensive, but you could use a student card to get a discount and if not I still think that they are worth it. But that's my opinion.
I personally think the 13" Macbook Pro without Retina display at $1199 is an excellent choice. But if you have the money, and feel it is worth it, you can opt for the Retina display for an additional $300. I would not recommend the 15" Macbook Pro as I feel it is just not worth the extra $600 or $1,000 for the retina display model. With the student discount you can get the 13" Macbook Pro for $999 which would be my choice.
The base 13" Macbook Pro will pretty much meet any need you have short of gaming. Save yourself some money by buying a refurbished model from Apple. Or, if you are a student then buy from the Educational Store.
Considering all the information you have supplied the MacBook Pro 13-inch is the best laptop for you.
