It depends on if you have been driving it with a bad gasket. Most garages will have to send out the head to be tested to make sure it is not warped. I had a cracked head gasket but the head did not need to be machined. The repair cost me $750.
Install a block off kit. Mix oil into the gas.
The head gasket itself cost around $125 USD, however you could spend up to $1000 in labor to replace it. Around $750 was the price my company charged for it.

£700 to £750 - which is a pile of cash, mine is being at a main dealer but my local garage would not be much less - He's said it's a real pig of a job. There is a nasty suprise, if the gasket has failed because the head has warped then it will need skimming but you can't tell until the head is off.i got mine done for 200 at a garage in notts called skeavington
