I'm not certain about the '94 but I own a 1995 Z28 and the Coolant Level Sensor is located immediately adjacent to the battery. You can just see it barely with the battery installed. My recommendation is to remove the battery completely (basic hand tools) and if you look at where the middle of the driver side of the battery was, the sensor will be staring you in the face. It is mounted on the radiator. It has a small wire sticking out of the bottom which is removed in the standard fashion. Then, the sensor itself is retained by a metal "ring". This ring is actually open on the driver side (the side you can't see) so if you get in there with a pair of needle-nose, you should have no problem pulling it off. Then the sensor will pull straight out (toward the rear of the car.) You WILL get coolant everywhere as the sensor sits in the middle of the radiator, so be sure to have a drip pan handy. As a certain manual states famously, installation is the reverse of removal. By the way, I hear of low coolant level lights going off because they are simply dirty, so if you are troubleshooting that, it's worth 50-100 bucks to look at it first. Otherwise, I also hear of them failing after a long time. Mine just failed today. Good luck!
The coolant level sensor is located in the coolant reservoir tank. It should just screw or press in. Unplug it, remove it and put a new one in.
Coolant level low or level sensor malfunction.Coolant level low or level sensor malfunction.
make sure the engine is cool. there will be some coolant loss. prepare the new sending unit bt wrapping the threads in teflon tape or coating them with sealant. disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor. install tyhe new one. check level after and top off if needed.
No, the electric cooling fans turn on and off by a signal from the coolant temp sensor. The coolant level sensor only illuminates the low coolant light when you are low on coolant.
Coolant sending unit is located at the left rear corner of the cylinder head on L4 engines and at the front of the left cylinder head on V6 and V8 engines
I can only speak for the v8's but its about 4 inches below the cap on the radiator, on the back side (towards the engine).
Drain off about 2 qts of coolant from radiator petcock after engine has cooled. Unplug wire harness from sensor. Remove sensor with a counterclockwise motion. Coat new sensor with a thread sealant and install until snug. Reconnect harness and refill coolant reservoir. Recheck coolant level after useage.
Only if the sensor is malfunctioning.
How do you install an oil level sensor 2007 Tahoe
The coolant level sensor is on the bottom of the coolant reservoir located on the passenger side fender well.
It is in the passenger side coolant tank on the radiator. If the light is on and the coolant is at the proper level then the sensor is defective. To replace it you will have to drain the radiator. Disconnect the wire and remove the clip and remove the sensor.
The 2004 Chevrolet Malibu coolant sensor float is located in the radiator. The coolant sensor float replace the level of coolant to the instrument panel.
