You cannot connect the O/P signal of the sensor to the input of the PLC - unless the voltage O/P from the sensor does not match the I/P voltage range of the PLC.

In that case, some sort of relay / opto-isolator or some sort of pull-up / pull - low resistor could solve your problem.
