How do you join the marching band in 7th grade?

Most importantly you need to learn an instrument that is in the marching band. After this is taken care of, talk to the teacher in charge. Julie35811 I play the Saxophone in band. I want to be really good so i can join next year in seventh grade. But ur not allowed to join unless your in 9th grade. Im a beginner at playing but move quickly. Im first chair. But any tips on how to make this possible?? ( like what music to use to show how good i am)
