by not bringing it near the orchids
none that are known of. the cat fanciers society lists orchids on the safe cat- household plant list. vanilla actually comes from an orchid. it is still best to keep kitties away from them however, because of what pesticides, fertilizers, and potting media may have been used around the plant. i have cats and orchids, i try to use no pesticides, and i keep the fertilizers away from the plant leaves. i occasionally catch them nipping the edges of leaves or tasting the spikes, and always scare them off anyway. its usually new orchids that they seem most interested in. but i haven't had them damage one yet.
You should not use Clorox or any type of bleach to keep cats away. Clorox and bleach are poisonous and can kill the cats.

yes you can, in south America they eat truantulas
I have never heard of that, but citrus peel tends to keep cats away, they hate it with a vengence

They can keep mice away

Red pepper should not harm plants in your garden if you sprinkle it around the plants to keep the cats and dogs away. However I would keep it away from the leaves and petals.
All you have to do is spray your cat with water when he or she goes for it.
Only if they appear to be bothering her.
Maybe, maybe not. You should keep a tortoise away from a cat and dog unless the cat or dog will try to attack it.
