Well there are several things you can do. If the game itself supports multiple save files like Fire Emblem for instance then all of those files will be saved under one save file on your computer. If the game doesn't support multiple saves like Pokemon you can make a save, rename the file to something else and then create another save. However if you want to go back to the original save you must rename it the exact way it was prior (game name.sav).
