If there is no apparent cause for your tiredness then it is not normal and you need to see a doctor. If however you are getting insufficient food or sleep for whatever reason (new baby, shift work, spending hours on the internet) then you need to address the cause.

Drink coffee, tea, energy drinks, or anything else with large amounts of caffeine in it.

Do 30 minutes of cardio/aerobic exercise. This will get your blood flowing, your endorphins going, and leave you feeling awake.

You will find that if you were to sleep in the day, or have on and off short naps throughout the day, you would most likely stay awake all night. Many people that suffer from insomnia sometimes stay awake all night and end up falling asleep in the day through no fault of their own.

Caffine. Contained in coffee, soft drink, tea and chocolate. (Among other things)

Also get that heart pumping. Do some jumping jacks or what-not.
