On mine,I have to open the key (without starting the car) for about 20 times before I`m able to start the car, in the morning,the rest of the day works fine.
It has to be the fuel pump ,the cheapest one I found at autozone for about $200
If you change it ,you must change the fuel pump strainer ,and the smart thing should be to change the filter too.

You will not know. That is why you just change it according to the manufactures recommendations as listed in your owners manual.
We would need to know the year and which model since there are differences.
On my 1995 Ford Explorer if the switch has been tripped so that no power is going to the electric fuel pump , the fuel reset light comes on in the gauge cluster in the dash

Do you have your terminology right....The injector relay would be the computer right??? The fuel pump relay could cause that problem!!!! good luck and let me know
