∙ 12y agoshe should be squeaking alot, unusually fat, and if you try to touch her, the father should try to bite you. Also, you should take her to a vet and ask.
As with most animals when pregnant they tend to be more aggresive, unhappy to be touched or picked up. If the female gerbil has been placed with a male, there is a good chance that she is pregnant. You'll soon know in 24 days if she is.

She will also change behaviors, such as starting to build nests a lot more or hoarding food. If your female gerbil has been in contact with a male gerbil and is over 10 weeks old, then chances are she is probably pregnant.

∙ 13y agowhen gerbils mate the male chases the female around the cage and the female generally thumps her foot when shes ready to go. After they do this ritual you can be sure they've mated, as long as they are sexually mature (6 months old). You'll also be able to tell during the next month or so if your girl is pregnant....which is a clear sign that the did has surely, been done. :)

∙ 12y agoIf you think she's pregnant then the best way to find out is by putting on the palm of your hand and if you can feel her stomach then she is most probably pregnant. Another way to tell if she is pregnant is if she looks peer shaped. This should only happen on the 17th day though.

But Thumping is a sure mating call as well as, a game of CAT and MOUSE (The male gerbil will chase around the female gerbil and mount her and then both gerbils will separate and clean genital areas) This continues for on and off sometimes for days. Its best not to separate of stop unless you dont want pups. BUT if process has started odds are the female will give birth soon.

∙ 13y agomy gerbil is usually pregnant to one, to know if she is pregnant i usually squeeze on her belly and i usually feel a gerbil in her belly if you a gerbil in her belly then stop squeezing and just wait for the baby to POP out. all this stuff except the pop out bit usually happens on day 19 till birth
