This is the part I dislike about the game.
You can't.
You kinda have to just cross your fingers and hope that you aren't paying 2-4 thousand bucks for a forged painting. If you want to see if it is forged, talk to Blathers. You have to say "DONATION". If it's real, he'll say "HOOTY! HOOT! My, what a beauty!" or something and just take it. Now, if it's forged,then he will tell you that it is not fit for his museum. It sells for 10 bells or you can just use it in your house

∙ 14y agoThese are paintings that you can buy from Redd, but that Blathers won't accept into the museum collection. There is no way tell the difference between a real and fake painting until you give it to Blathers.
