If it doesn't supply the proper fuel pressure, need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail/service port and turn the key to the on position. The fuel pump should prime the fuel rail with gas with the engine off. Most EFI systems run around 43psi, some fords service manuals say mid 30s is ok.
If, with power applied, the pump provides sufficient fuel pressure at sufficient volume, then it does not need to be replaced. Otherwise, it does.
If the fuel pump relay goes bad your fuel pump will not get power and you will get no fuel. If your fuel pressure is showing too low your pump is either weak and needs to be replaced, your fuel lines are restricted somewhere ( or possibly leaking ) or your fuel filter needs to be replaced.
It is changed when the fuel pump is replaced.
It has a permanent fuel filter mounted in the fuel tank, that never needs changing. It is replaced when the fuel pump is replaced.
Suggest replace every 15 to 30,000 miles. GM has been having a lot of fuel pump early failures.Keep the filter clean and you reduce the chance of overworking the pump. If you don't know when it was done, have it replaced and start from new.
Chrysler does not use inertia/reset switches. If the fuel pump has failed it needs replaced.
The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank on a 1988 Range Rover 4.6. The fuel pump usually needs replaced after 100,000 or more.
First replace the fuel filter just in case it is partially clogged. Then have a fuel pressure test run to determine the condition of the pump. If the fuse and relay are good and the pump will not run you know it is defective and no test is necessary. But if it is running a test is the only way to know for sure. If you have never replaced the pump on this 19 year old vehicle it is more than likely bad.
no, but there is a relay or fuse for the fuel pump you can pull. there really is no way to "reset" a fuel pump. if it stops working it needs to be replaced, assuming the pump is the cause of the failure
I replaced my fuel pump its in the fuel tank.... I replaced my fuel pump its in the fuel tank....
It is in the fuel tank. As i know fitted on the fuel pump. I am also searching for fuel filter maybe needs to be replaced :) First i know that it is in the tank, then i want to see how to replace and how it looks like at all.
Hi, The fuel pump for the 1999 Chevy Venture is located inside the fuel tank. If it needs to be replaced, the fuel tank will need to be drained and removed to get to the fuel pump.
