I think that is tricky. It is different for everyone. Some people will say that it is when you will do more for someone than you will do for yourself, but that could just be lust or obsession, not always love. My grandma use to tell me it is when you find someone that you can see yourself growing old with and still wanting to be with them when there is no money, no sex, health is failing, etc. If you consider the worst situations you can think of and you still want to be with that person, then maybe that's love. I know with my husband it's because that even though I can see all of his faults, I still want to be with him. No matter what foll-hardy thing he wants to do, I still support him. When I'm with him I have no desire or urge to look at or be with anyone else. For me, that's love.
