If you look at it twice and it's in a different place the second time compared to
where it was the first time, it's in motion.
Note:
It's possible for it to be in the same place both times even though it's in motion.
So if it's in the same place the second time you look, you can't necessarily say
that it's not in motion. But if it is in a different place the second time you look,
then it definitely is in motion.
If something is in a different place than it was.
You measure the distance from the object to some other object several times and if there is a difference, the objects are in motion to each other. There is no absolute frame of reference in the Universe (according to Einstein).
An object's motion in relation to something else
In plain English, "a motion to stay" something, means "a petition to stop" something from happening.
When something moves.
For example: A alive human is in motion and a dead human is something not in motion.
You have to use a reference point. Pick anything around the area (it's better if it's stationary), and then check to see if the other object changes position at all (in comparison to the reference point). If it does change position, then the object is in motion.
Hi, i do not know what the meaning of this symbol is, but i am getting it tattooed on my ankle in memory of my 25 yr. old nephew who passed. I see him as a star now, and the fact that it is in motion, to me means that he lives on!!! Hope this is something to some one, i know it is for me. Michele N.Y.

To write motion as an adjective, you can use "moving" or "mobile." These words describe something that is in motion or has the ability to move.
Retrograde motion describes something by definition. It is not and has never been a theory.
