If there is sensor with wires going to it sticking out of the front of the pan, it has the level sensor.
Front of the engine, at oil pan level.

The most likely cause would be low fluid level.
Probably because it has a small engine, or used to. 4 cylinder, I'm guessing. It should have a 20 gallon tank. Have the level sensor checked out.

That is an oil level sensor.
Check coolant level Could be a weak thermostat
First undo them at the radiator, then follow them to the transmission and remove there. After fitting new ones,check for leaks then fill trans fluid to required level.
On a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix the oil level sensor is located on the Oil Pan directly underneath the Air Condition Compressor.
Should be under the glovebox and slightly left. From floor level, it should be covered by a long plastic cap about 1 1/2 inches wide by about 6 inches long.
In the compartment at floor level, driver side, beside tailgate.
